The governor of Anbar, Engineer Omar Mushan Dabous, conducted a field tour today, Wednesday, of the main Al-Lahib checkpoint on Ibrahim bin Ali Street in the Karma district, which is considered one of the vital thoroughfares connecting Anbar Province with the capital, Baghdad. The tour was attended by the commander of Anbar Operations, the commander of Baghdad Operations, and a number of security leaders and representatives from relevant agencies.
The governor ordered the removal of the concrete barriers approximately 14 years after they were installed, in addition to organizing traffic control operations in accordance with approved security protocols, in a manner that ensures the smooth flow of traffic and a high level of coordination between the Anbar Operations Command, the Anbar Police Command, and the Baghdad Operations Command.
The move was met with a positive response from residents, who expressed their satisfaction with it, given its importance in facilitating transportation and strengthening ties between Anbar and Baghdad, reflecting the improved security situation and stability in the province.
